Best Shopping Malls in Bangkok, Thailand

MBK Center

MBK Center Shopping Mall is by far one of the most popular shopping centers in Bangkok and one of my personal favorite as well.

It was opened in 1985 and is eight stories high with approximately 2000 shops/services available.

MBK Center is conveniently located in Pathum Wan and the nearest Skytrain Station is the National Stadium so it is easily reachable from any part of Bangkok.

This place is a real paradise for both the locals and tourists from all over the world and you will most likely find anything you are looking for there.

When it comes to clothing you will find most of the well-known brands and stores there without a problem.

If you love electronics there is an entire floor dedicated to tech gadgets including the latest cameras, mobile phones, and computers.

You might get hungry during your shopping so there is also a wonderful food court on the 6th floor with an incredibly wide choice of bars and restaurants.

Terminal 21

If I had to describe this shopping mall in just three words they would be amazing, fun and original.

I discovered this place during one of my trips to Bangkok when I booked a room at Grande Centre Point Hotel which offers the convenience of direct access to the Terminal 21 Shopping Mall.

It is located near to the Sukhumvit MRT and Asoke BTS train stations.

Terminal 21 is a relatively new shopping center since it was opened in 2011 and it offers around 670 stores.

My favorite parts of it were the themed floors, in fact, each of the 9 floors is all about one of the most famous cities in the world.

There is the Caribbean themed floor, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, London, Istanbul, Hollywood and two San Francisco themed floors as well.

It is quite an adventure to experience all these incredible cities under one roof.

Also, there is an incredible choice of restaurants and I enjoyed eating there most of the nights.

I really loved this shopping center and the next time I’m in Bangkok I’m certainly going to go there again.

Siam Paragon

While shopping in Bangkok you simply can’t miss another famous and very frequented shopping mall – the luxurious Siam Paragon.

Located by the Sukhumvit BTS Skytrain station it is actually the 3rd largest shopping mall in Thailand so it is definitely worth visiting.

Some of the stores at Siam Paragon include Bulgari, Burberry, Chanel, Dior, Fendi and much more but it is really impossible to list all of them.

Apart from all the high-end stores, the Siam Paragon is also home to the Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World – a huge aquarium with incredible examples of underwater life.
It is an amazing experience for adults and kids and I highly recommend visiting it before or after your shopping session at the Siam Paragon.

The easiest way to get there is to get a Skytrain to Chit Lom Station.

Best Markets in Bangkok

Apart from these incredible and huge shopping malls, the capital city of Thailand is well known for its vibrant and endless markets that take hours if not days to be fully explored.

Here I’m going to introduce you only to the biggest ones, however, this is only the tip of the iceberg so if you know other interesting markets feel free to share in the comments section below.

Chatuchak Market (Weekend Market)

Open only on Saturday and on Sunday from 9 AM until 6 PM is one of the most important Thai markets. With thousands of market stalls and hundreds of thousands of visitors, Chatuchak Market is a must-visit place not only for shopping enthusiasts but for everyone really.
The selection of goods sold at this market is immense and you will find a huge choice of clothing, food, furniture, flowers, antiques, plates and much much more. You can easily spend an entire day there and still have something left to see and to admire. Also if you decide to go to Chatuchak Market make sure you don’t forget to bargain in order to get the best possible deal.

Chinatown Markets

Chinatown is a lovely vibrant and very busy district with huge quantities of all kinds of goods. The best way to finish an exciting shopping session for me personally was having a delicious Chinese meal in one of the local places available.

Flower Market (Pak Khlong Talat)

A beautiful place, definitely worth visiting. You will be overwhelmed by the beauty of all the flowers, fruits, scents and colors of this place.

Train Night Market

This is one of the best night markets in Bangkok, the atmosphere is really amazing there and it is perfect to enjoy authentic Thai food as well.
It closes really late at night, well past midnight so there is plenty of time to soak in all it has to offer.
